Introducing Generative AI: Unlocking Our Capacity
AI is already changing how we work. For nonprofits and mission-driven teams, the opportunity is about capacity. Done well, AI clears the desk, joins us as a collaborator, and even helps us think more clearly.
In this session, we explore three modes of working with AI:
-
Efficiency: clear the desk
Routine tasks get handled faster. From drafting donor thank-yous to formatting proposals, AI takes the friction out of work that shouldn’t consume your energy.
-
Collaborator: create together
AI doesn’t just record; it contributes. It can generate provocative questions, surface patterns, and help a team move further in less time. Think of it as a teammate who never runs out of ideas.
-
Thinking Partner: make better sense
At its best, AI holds your long-arc thinking. It tracks threads across weeks and months, challenges your assumptions, and helps you refine judgment before big decisions.
Across all three modes, the unlock is relational. When the system knows your voice, has your context, and remembers continuity, it grows with you and helps you work better over time.
Why It Matters for Your Team
Most people stop at “make this faster.” But the real gains come when AI contributes ideas, notices patterns, and holds the arc of your work over time. This workshop helps teams move past novelty into practice, equipping staff with confidence, guardrails, and permission to experiment.
This is a three-hour, hands-on workshop (with a short break). We use AI in the workshop.
Bring your laptop: we’ll open the tools together and try them in real time.
Experience first, theory second: we’ll touch on what AI is and why it matters, but most of the time is spent experimenting.
Practical application: you’ll work with your own real tasks, from reports to communications, and see how AI can support them.
Relational AI in practice: you’ll be introduced to my approach of treating AI as a partner, grounded in voice, context, and continuity.
