Design Thinking Tools and Skills

Dive deeper into Design Thinking and practice using a new set of go-to tools you can keep in your back pocket to reframe problems and approach your work through a human-centred lens.

Design Thinking offers a complementary approach to your own method of problem solving—it puts the needs of people experiencing a problem at the core of the process so that we can design solutions that address their real needs and problems.

This Master Class is your opportunity to gain practical experience with new tools so you can be a confident, skilled Design Thinking practitioner in your work.

Participants leave with pads of Overlap worksheets for moving through the Design Thinking process, a problem solving poster, and an Overlap Design Thinking skills and methods card deck.

Lunch, snacks and refreshments are provided.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this Master Class workshop you will feel confident:

  • Completing an analysis of the stakeholders involved in the problem
  • Using empathy mapping to understand end-user needs and experiences
  • Using journey mapping to understand end-user needs and experiences
  • Generating many new and useful ideas that address the problems you identify
  • Using feedback cards to get usable feedback from end-users
