We believe better is absolutely possible.
We care deeply about vulnerable populations and building communities. It is the reason we come to work every day. It motivates us. It guides us in choosing what we work on and who we partner with.
Our work builds capacity in people who create products, services, organizations, and systems that put people and planet first.
The reason we exist is to democratize human-centred design.
This mission is the way Overlappers contribute to the world, it’s how we make our living and will be our North star for the next 100 years.
As a small business, we’re not waiting until we get big and rich to support the causes that matter to us most. We believe in ‘Philanthrepreneurship’—which means that we approach our philanthropic and community giving with an entrepreneurial mindset. This aligns with our core values and demonstrates that good corporate citizenship is an everyday practice, not a donation cheque at the end of the fiscal year.
Overlap President and Chief Relationship Officer, Lisa Grogan, is a member of UNICEF Canada’s ‘25th Team’, a 60-member women’s leadership group supporting maternal health and childhood well-being initiatives in five developing countries.
Overlap’s CEO Brock Hart is the Vice Chair of the Kitchener Waterloo Community Foundation and a Board member at Centre In The Square.
This isn’t just about leadership —Overlappers are engaged and community minded. Our team volunteers all the time (because they want to, not because we tell them to), including House of Friendship and CMHA ‘Ride Don’t Hide’.
